Map windows, lamps and seats before choosing a size and finding a relevant test of the exact version. OLED, mini-LED or an HDR label alone does not decide which TV suits your room. This guide helps define the evidence without inventing a universal winner.
Your purchase checklist
- Map direct light sources and normal viewing times.
- Choose an exact size, regional model code and picture mode.
- Separate SDR daylight viewing, direct reflections and HDR.
- Match tested size, method and limitations to the intended unit.
- Check placement, stand or mount, connections and complete delivered cost.
Separate a bright room from a reflected window
Diffuse daylight differs from a window or lamp visible in the screen from your seat. Inspect the intended position at your normal viewing time. Consider placement, blinds and lighting too. These may change the shortlist without automatically making one panel technology the winner.
Read SDR, HDR and picture mode separately
For daytime sports or broadcasts, seek relevant SDR and reflection evidence. A small bright HDR highlight does not describe a large bright daytime picture. Check whether the measurement uses a film or game mode. Do not compare brightness figures from different methodologies as if the conditions matched.
Example: the scope of the C4 test
RTINGS tested a 65-inch LG C4 and describes distracting direct reflections. The consulted page uses Test Bench 2.3.1. This is external evidence, not a Specufo measurement of the 55-inch OLED55C44LA.AEK. Check size and regional version before applying series-review conclusions. No score or access-restricted measurements are reproduced.
Check the whole model code and actual size
The linked C4 examples are 55- and 65-inch UK .AEK versions. That does not confirm a Dutch shop version, delivery or warranty terms. A larger screen also changes placement and the view from your seat. Check width, stand and viewing distance for the room; comfort has no universal distance formula.
A size difference may involve more than larger glass
Manufacturers or testers can describe different panels or features by size. RTINGS distinguishes the 42/48-inch C4 from larger sizes. Do not present one 65-inch result as a direct measurement of every C4. Verify what matches, what differs and which evidence is still missing for the exact code.
Decide using three conditions
Shortlist a candidate when it physically fits, relevant light behaviour is supported and its exact identity matches. If uncertain, seek a demonstration with comparable lighting and check return terms. Then compare product, delivery, any mounting service and bracket. Sources checked 29 October 2026. No Specufo hands-on test or guaranteed result for every room.
