Browsing without an account
No third-party analytics or advertising pixels are included. Theme, density, comparison choices, saved filters and up to twelve recently viewed products are stored in your browser for the features you use. Clear recent products in Tracker or remove this site’s browser data. These preferences are not sent as an analytics profile.
Accounts and contributions
An account stores an alias, a salted password hash when you use a password, session-token hashes, your lists, price targets and submitted content in Specufo’s own database. We use this to provide the requested account features. Sessions expire after at most seven days. Account data stays while the account exists; contact us to request deletion or correction. Public contributions are reviewed before publication.
Optional Google sign-in
When the Google button is available, you can choose to sign in through Google. We store your stable Google account identifier and verified email privately to recognise your account. Your email is not a public alias. We do not request Gmail, Drive or contacts access, and do not store Google access or refresh tokens. A secure, temporary Google sign-in cookie and in-memory request expire after ten minutes. Existing password accounts are linked only after signing in and confirming their password.
Security and hosting
Functional, secure session and form-security cookies protect sign-in and submissions. For abuse prevention, short-lived IP-based request counters are kept in memory and replaced on the first request in a new minute window. The application does not keep IP access logs. A hosting proxy may process connection data for security; its actual settings are checked when the site is deployed. Recovery copies are private and are used only for recovery. Deletion requests must also be respected after restoring a backup.
Contact and your rights
Email is sent through your own mail service to our existing business contact address and used to answer your message. You can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or transfer of your data and object where applicable. We verify identity without asking you to email a password. Signed-in users can download their own account data from Account. You can also contact the Dutch supervisory authority, Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
