SN7100: 1 TB or 2 TB?

Editorial specification comparison · checked 23 October 2026

Capacity deserves its own comparison. These SN7100 variants have equal advertised peak speeds, but different storage space and TBW limits. The 2 TB model provides twice the nominal space and a higher write limit.

The manufacturer describes the series as DRAM-less with TLC NAND. This alone does not decide suitability for every workload. Look for post-cache measurements when sustained writing matters.

Price per TB compares shop totals on equal capacity units, and appears only with a confirmed total for your destination. Also consider whether one larger drive is preferable to using another slot; slot availability and cooling need separate verification.

Compare capacity and cache, not just peak speed

Manufacturer speeds are maxima under stated test conditions. They do not show sustained writing after the cache fills. TBW is a write-endurance warranty limit, not a predicted failure date; time limits also apply. Check M.2 length, interface and heatsink clearance in the host manual. Price per TB uses nominal decimal capacity and a confirmed delivered total.
